# Introduction
|
|
|
|
This document contains the information that does not traditionally appear in a resume. Resume's are too focused and do not allow consideration of adjacent opportunities.
|
|
|
|
# Academic
|
|
|
|
Was the 1990 Epley Award winner for outstanding work on my senior thesis in Sociology.
|
|
|
|
While in the Army:
|
|
|
|
- I enrolled in graduate computer science courses with Boston Univeristy at the Heidelburg campus in Germany.
|
|
- I enrolled in undergraduate computer science courses with University of Maryland also in Heidelberg.
|
|
|
|
As a graduate student of Sociology:
|
|
|
|
- I was the student representative for the Midwest Sociological Society
|
|
- I presented a qualitative study of social interactions on CompuServer and AOL
|
|
- I taught undergraduate Intro to Sociology, Formal Organizations, and Marriage and Family at ISU and Heartland Community College.
|
|
|
|
I attended the Harrington College of Design in Chicago.
|
|
|
|
# Hobbies
|
|
|
|
## TTRPG and Fantasy lifestyle
|
|
Took up Dungeons and Dragons in Junior High
|
|
|
|
- Played many other TTRPGs starting in the 1980s
|
|
- Call of Cthulhu, Car Wars, Shadowrun, MTG
|
|
- Collected and painted miniatures
|
|
|
|
Joined the Society for Creative Anachronism while in college.
|
|
|
|
- Learned fighting and procured a set of armor
|
|
- Learned calligraphy and illumination
|
|
- Produced award scrolls for many events using these skills
|
|
|
|
## Artistic
|
|
I learned to draw in the early 2000s after reading the book "Drawing on the right side of the brain". I continued to draw for a long time.
|
|
|
|
Learned Photoshop and digital artwork shortly after.
|
|
|
|
Learned to create digital art with softare like Poser, Bryce, Vue, and DAZ Studio.
|
|
|
|
Began making 3D art in Modo and ZBrush.
|
|
|
|
## Video Games
|
|
Where other people watch TV, I play video games.
|
|
|
|
I have played video games consistently since the 80s.
|
|
|
|

# Business Endeavors

## Pyramid the role playing game

- At 15, I wrote, copyrighted, self published, and distributed a table top role playing game.
|
|
- It sold a few copies at local hobby game stores.
|
|
- I attended game conventions in 1984 to promote the game.
|
|
|
|
## Cyberbound
|
|
|
|
- In the early 90s I founded a web development and hosting company
|
|
- I ran it for a few years before it closed
|
|
|
|
## Shareware
|
|
|
|
- I developed early bibliography shareware that I sold on CompuServe
|
|
|
|
## Hobby game store
|
|
|
|
- In the early 2000s I established an online hobby game store
|
|
- The plan was to setup a brick and mortar location
|
|
|
|
## Harmony Health Medical
|
|
|
|
- Founded a medical private practice for my wife
|
|
- It ran successfully for 5 years
|
|
- I chose to close it while it was in a successful state
|
|
|
|
